Hear the right play call (v. 6)!

Two basic meaning for mountains in scripture: Difficulties and Divine
- Mountains described times of difficulties, obstacles, problems, etc. (read Mark 11:23)
- Mountains were a place to meet the divine!
1. Exodus 3:1, 5 (Moses meets God, holy ground)
2. Exodus 17:6 (water from the rock)
3. Matthew 17:1-3 (Jesus w/ Peter, James, and John meet up with Moses and Elijah)

It’s amazing that the same place can be both a burden and a blessing
- How do we distinguish whether it’s a burden or a blessing?
1. BE STILL!
2. LISTEN!
Stay in bounds (v. 7)!
- God gives them specific boundaries
- God sent the people of God right into danger
- The tendency is for us to avoid the contact!

Tweet: God will never send you where the peace of God will not keep you
Execute the play—See, Go, Possess… (v. 8)
- v. 8, “See, I [YHWH] have set the land before you.”
- How do you see what you’ve never seen before?
“for we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Cor 5:7 (ESV)
- v. 8, God tells them to go inand possess the land
- In spite of the insurmountable trouble they will face, God tells them to go possess of the land. Why?
- Because the Lord “swore” unto the children of Israel
1. “Swore” in the Hebrew means to be complete

- The promise was permanentnot left to chance!
- When the Lord seals His promise, God will never change that plan.
- Psalm 110:4a states, “The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind…”
