Don't store up treasures here on earth where they can erode away or may be stolen. Store them in heaven where they will never lose their value and are safe from thieves. If your profits are in heaven your heart will be there too. Matthew 6:19-21 TLB
But more than anything else, put God's work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well. Matthew 6:33 CEV
"What profit is there if you gain the whole world and lose eternal life? What can be compared with the value of eternal life?" Matthew 16:26 TLB
"When we don't know Christ, we make choices as though this life is all we have. In reality, this life is just the introduction to eternity. How we live this brief span, however, determines our eternal state. What we accumulate on earth has no value in purchasing eternal life. Even the highest social or civic honors cannot earn for us eternal life. Begin, therefore, to evaluate all that happens from an eternal perspective."
Fun facts about the heart:
-The average heart is the size of the fist in an adult
-Your heart will beat close to 115,000 times each day
-Your heart pumps about 2,000 gallons of blood a day
-An electrical system controls the rhythm of your heart. The cardiac conduction system
-The heart can continue beating even when it's disconnected from the body
-The human heart weighs less than a pound. However, a man's heart, on average, is 2 ounces heavier than a woman's heart
-A woman's heart beats slightly faster than a man's heart.
-Laughing is good for your heart. It reduces stress and gives a boost to your immune system.
"Your heart affects every part of your body. That also means that diet, lifestyle, and your emotional well-being can affect your heart. Emotional and physical health are both important to maintaining a healthy heart." (Source: Healthline Media)
"The heart is hopelessly dark and deceitful, a puzzle that no one can figure out. But I, God, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be." Jeremiah 17:9 - 10 MSG
"God makes it clear why we sin it is a matter of the heart: our hearts have been inclined toward sin from the time we were born. But we can still choose whether or not to continue in sin (or the old habits).
Is it possible that you went into the New Year, new month, NEW BEGINNING with the same ideas, idols, habits, hinderances and you only temporarily put them on pause HAVING EVERY INTENT to press play after a brief interruption in the action?
Tips to help you avoid making God the second option:

Tip 1
The most significant thing you can do to make this year and every year incredibly successful for you, this church and anything you come in contact with is surrender your whole heart to God. - Jeremiah 29:13

Tip 2
Investing in your contentment will prevent you from growing complacent or stagnant. 1 Timothy 6:6

Despite almost overwhelming evidence to the contrary most people still believe that money brings happiness. Rich people craving greater riches can be caught in an endless cycle which only ends in ruin and destruction. How can you keep away from the love of money?

Paul gives us some principles
-Realize that one day riches will all be gone
-Be content with what you have
-Monitor what you are willing to do to get more money and things
-Love people more than money and things
-Love people more than money
-Love Gods work more than money
-Freely share what you have with others

Tip 3
"If you have not chosen the Kingdom of God first, it will in the end make no difference what you have chosen instead." William Law

Tip 4
"The secret of a happy life is giving God the first part of your day, the first priority to every decision, and the first place in your heart."
