John 15:4-5

hey

The grapes in this picture are only this rich because of the vine which feeds them. If you are planning to have a successful relationship with God its important to know whom and what you are connected to.

Jesus said at the beginning of our theme verse..
Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you.

The word remain means continue to exist, especially after other similar people or things have ceased to do so.

* This infers that a relationship with God is not just a fashionable thing that people do with their time until the next big thing comes along. Actually it means that people need to take a personal stance to stick to God even when the rest of the crowd has decided to do otherwise.

* In that same sentence Jesus goes on to infer that as long as we stay in him he will do the same and stay in us. His presence makes a difference to our existence and we cannot fully discover how much unless we REMAIN in Him.
Jesus goes on to say
Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me.

- No Branch can bear fruit by itself with out remaining in the vine.

Every young person who comes to God in their youth is effectively wanting to set up a life with few regrets. Some young people choose to plan their life and future based on delaying a relationship with God in favor of #LivingMyBestLife now without Him.

What those in their youth may not realise is that there are no guarantees that you can wait until you are 30 to serve God let alone 50 or 21. The truth is nothing is cemented in stone that you will live until a certain age. There are too many variables between you and heaven to assume that you will live to give your life to Christ.

In order to get the most from your Christian walk its best to start by asking.. when Jesus talks about Bearing Fruit what exactly is He talking about?

Look at the VERSE BELOW

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is

- Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control. AGAINST SUCH Things there is no law.

Love - To Love others is right and it is good and it is Godly. The type of love we practice with one another is the one we have been shown by those in our lives. If the quality of those in our lives is low, if their values and influence do not contribute to our improvement, let alone our values and influence cannot bring recognition of God in our lives then those connections serve to harm our fruitfulness.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE - 1 JOHN 4 vs 7 -8
Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Joy - These are all words that talk about what Joy is..delight, great pleasure, joyfulness, jubilation, triumph, exultation, rejoicing, happiness, gladness, glee, exhilaration, ebullience, exuberance, elation, euphoria, bliss, ecstasy, transports of delight, rapture, radiance. No one we know has ever expressed that they do not wish to be happy, full of joy or optimistic. However the quote from the article below shows you that we are in an ongoing crisis that affects young people in a big way.

"Today's youngsters are the unhappiest in almost a decade because they do not know how to cope with setbacks, research by the Prince's Trust has found. Almost half of the young people said they did not feel they could cope well with setbacks in life. 61 per cent of young people said they regularly felt stressed, 53 per cent said they regularly felt anxious and 27 per cent said they felt hopeless on a regular basis. Almost half said they had experienced a mental health problem." https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/04/05/young-people-struggle-cope-setbacks-happiness-falls-lowest-level/

With so many people suffering from this lack of happiness it is important to seek Gods version of Joy from His Spirit to know how to be in your situation.
Its little wonder when the Bible says...

SCRIPTURE CONNECTION - James 1 vs 2- 3
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces [a]patience.

Young People And Happiness

Article talking about the state of the happiness of young people in the UK.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/04/05/young-people-struggle-cope-setbacks-happiness-falls-lowest-level/
Peace - means to join or bind together that which has been separated) literally pictures the binding or joining together again of that which had been separated or divided and thus setting at one again, a meaning convey by the common expression of one “having it all together”. Every Christian faces difficult situations and its important that we allow God to step in to the broken parts of our hearts to do what only He can do which is to HEAL us and put us back together internally. So that even when the storms of life are raging we are able to sleep without fear.

SCRIPTURE CONNECTION Philipians 4 vs 5- 7
Let your gentle spirit [your graciousness, unselfishness, mercy, tolerance, and patience] be known to all people. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].

Patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting]
A lot of young christians today are in deep suffering in their Christian walk because they are being sold the image of prosperity while they are living in deep ignorance. They are taught to wait but in their waiting they suffer, some are told to act a certain way when they should be seeking true and accurate information, conversation, prayerfully to know exactly what they should do while they wait. Imagine the student who decides that they dont want to go to school or get an education because they are waiting(doing nothing) for God, or waiting for an amazing thing to happen that will end poverty, difficulty or be the easy way out. What they dont realise that all this "Waiting" this doing nothing is contributing to their impatience and so they end up falling into temptation while they do nothing. They are idle and so their lives give way to idols and temptations. Meanwhile the HOLY SPIRITs version of us waiting is LEARNING from His daily instructions which helps our patience

SCRIPTURE CONNECTION - JAMES 1 vs 4 AMP
But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be [b]perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
Kindness - renowned professor Mark Twain once said.. "Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see."

SCRIPTURE CONNECTION - Mathew 6vs 2 AMP
“So whenever you give to the poor and do acts of kindness, do not blow a trumpet before you [to advertise it], as the hypocrites do [like actors acting out a role] in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored and recognized and praised by men. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, they [already] have their reward in full.
Goodness - Goodness is the state or quality of being good. Moral excellence; virtue; Kindly feeling, kindness, generosity, joy in being good. MORAL EXCELLENCE is a quality the Holy Spirit can teach any young person to cultivate. This characteristic has saved many from very difficult decisions and experiences that were designed to destroy them. When God encourages our moral excellence it is because it will preserve both our reputation and may likely spring to our defence when we least expect it to. No Christian should take this side of their faith.. moral excellence can lead to opportunities we would other wise not be given. Apart from that it is one of the ways in which we can show that we walk with GOD.

SCRIPTURE CONNECTION - Acts 10 vs 38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Faithfulness - believing, confiding, trusting - We all need someone we can trust and we know that the quality of faithfulness is in short supply. Young people particularly struggle with trusting in, confiding in and trusting in others because someone who is your friend today can put you in a very difficult situation tomorrow and behave as though your life does not matter. A boy can tell a girl that he loves her and over night tell another girl that he loves her meanwhile he himself does not even know the love he speaks of. TO be faithful requires loyalty and consistency not just in the moment but in the long run. A relationship with God produces in us a high quality of faithfulness that makes us more reliable to Him and those whom He has called us to Serve and beyond.

SCRIPTURE CONNECTION - Deuteronomy 32 vs 19-20
“The Lord saw it, and rejected them,Out of indignation with His sons and His daughters.20 “Then He said, ‘I will hide My face from them,I will see what their end shall be;For they are a perverse generation,Sons in whom there is no faithfulness.
Gentleness - meekness ("gentle strength") which expresses power with reserve and gentleness. For the believer, meekness "gentle-force" begins with the Lord's inspiration and finishes by His direction and empowerment. It is a divinely-balanced virtue that can only operate through faith. In other words the direction of God and His empowerment for us to do His will is shown in GENTLENESS. GENTLENESS is not a sign of weakness but a sign of STRENGTH from God. Some people are gentle from birth but most are not. If you are young you have time to work on your gentleness and discover the true empowerment that God Brings into your life through His spirit.

SCRIPTURE CONNECTION - Colossians 3 vs 12
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Self-Control - the ability to control oneself, in particular one's emotions and desires, especially in difficult situations. How many times have you found yourself in difficult conversations, situations, temptations, experiences and wished you had controlled yourself that bit more. Your reaction made the difference, you said what you said to prove a point but it backfired. You jumped to a conclusion and lost more than you thought. You spent more time with the person than you should have and ended up doing things you regretted. You went to the place you were told not to go and stayed in the situation you were told to get out of. The Spirit of God offers immense help with our self control. He deals with our desires and encourages our resolve to stay in the will of God.
"self-control" – proceeding out from within oneself, but not by oneself.True mastery from within would change the nature of the battles you fight and when you fight them.

SCRIPTURE CONNECTION - Titus 2:11-12
For the [remarkable, undeserved] grace of God that [a]brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to reject ungodliness and worldly (immoral) desires, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives [lives with a purpose that reflect spiritual maturity] in this present age,

If you want to be FRUITFUL make it your duty to stay connected and plugged in so that God can show the difference between you and the world you live in.
