What connections do the Scriptures hold for us?

Reconnect to the Gospel
Anyone who believes the Bible knows that one must obey the gospel to be saved. It's clear that "the gospel is God's power to save mankind" Romans 1:16. Matthew 7:21 teaches us that only those who Do God's will are going to be saved, and 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 is clear that any who do not "obey the gospel" will be eternally lost. So what does God do when one chooses to obey the gospel? He adds them to His church, Acts 2:47.

Here's the connection, if you ask, "must a person obey the gospel?" You've asked if a person must be a member of the church, because you can't do one without the other.

Romans 1:16

Reconnect to the Blood of Christ
If you've ever wondered what the blood of Christ has to do with your salvation, you are not alone. It can be confusing, but since Jesus is our "sacrificial Lamb" His blood is the cleansing agent God uses to "wash away our sins" Revelation 1:5. All the power of God to remit sins is found in the Blood of Christ!

Here's the connection, to spiritually contact that blood, one must be baptized into Christ's death. Because the blood of the covenant was shed in His death, Romans 6:1-4. Without baptism, there's no way to contact the redeeming blood of Christ, Galatians 3:26-27.

Romans 6:1-4

Reconnect to God
Our sin has created a great chasm between mankind & our Creator, Isaiah 59:1-2. We all recognize our need to be reconciled to Him, 2 Corinthians 5:19.

Here's the connection, if you want to meet someone, you go where they have planned to meet you. God has given a specific place to reconcile us back to Himself. It's in the church, Ephesians 1:22-23. There's no reconciliation outside of the church, Ephesians 2:16.

Ephesians 2:13-16

Have you made the connection? When one obeys the gospel, God adds them to the church. When one contacts the blood of Christ, they have obeyed the gospel, and God adds them to the church. If one is reconciled to God, it happened in the church!
