I. Who is your umpire in life (final Authority), is it God or you? How can God become more of an umpire for you? <br>II. Why do you think Jesus is willing to pick a fight with these religious leaders? Is it anger and frustration or is it something more? <br>III. Read Mark 5:1-8 – What is the obvious lesson of the story? Why do you think these leaders had such contempt for Jesus? V.9 – Who will the vineyard be given to? V10 – What kind of claim is Jesus making here? <br>IV. The question of Allegiance – God or Government is very relevant for our time. Read Mark 12:13-17 and discuss the fine line we must walk. Read 1 Peter 2:13-14, 2:17 <br>V. Sadducees (who say that there is no resurrection) are much like those who deny the supernatural. Are faith and science mutually exclusive? When it comes to giving, what can we learn from the widow? What is the real lesson here? Is it to give everything? Or is it about your motive in giving? How can we honor God in our giving?
