Week 2 - Training Our Mind
Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
Why do we behave irrationally?— We have wires crossed in our mind.

It's a battle between God’s Truth About You—Enemy’s Lies to You.
Your life is always moving in direction of strongest thoughts.
Why are we irrational in our thinking? Wires crossed.... we need TRAINING FOR OUR MINDS.
Training = exercise & nutrition
We need to train our minds through meditation on the Word.

Definition of meditation: to engage in mental exercise. To focus one’s thoughts.
Joshua 1:8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
Psalm 143:5 I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done.
Philippians 4:8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
We need to train our minds with memorization of the Word.
Memorize defined: commit to memory; learn by heart.
Psalm 119:9-11 How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. 10 I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands. 11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Psalm 119:15-16 I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways. 16 I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word.
Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
