We are all sinners and, therefore, separated from God.

God instituted Mosaic Law for the Israelites as a temporary and symbolic means of substitution-ally atoning for sin, but its requirements were burdensome and not liberating.

Jesus, by his Earthly life, death, and resurrection made Himself a permanent propitiation for sin, setting all those who trust Him free.

We have been freed from the penalty of sin, which is spiritual death. Because of this we are also free from Mosaic Law; its sacrifices, ritual cleansings, dietary restrictions, and days of obligation.

We have been freed from the power of sin; guilt, shame, inadequacy, and hopelessness, because sin no longer has dominion over us. Because of this, we are also free from legalism, restrictions placed on us by those who make good behavior into a false religion.

Finally, we will one day be free from the presence of sin as we live forever with God, where there is no evil.
