RECAP: If we want to fix our finances we need to fix our focus. There are two sides to the same coin. One can bring peace and freedom the other often brings debt, stress and fear. We all know the joy of giving to someone in need and you’ve also probably felt like you got back more than you gave. We know it’s foolishness to just chase after more because we know getting doesn’t bring contentment. God is the blesser who’s blessed us to be a blessing. God’s grace in our lives should lead to rich generosity.

1. When was a time that you gave to someone or something and got more out of giving than you felt they did out of getting?

2.How have you looked for money or stuff to bring contentment to your life?

3.Read Proverbs 11:24-25. What sticks out to you in that passage? What do you think it might look like to prosper and be refreshed when it comes to these verses?

4.Read 2 Corinthians 8:1-9. What do you notice about the Macedonians situation? What does that tell us about our situation, whether good or bad?

5.What do you think Paul means in verse 1 about the “grace that God has given the Macedonian churches”? How do you think that may or may not apply to you as well?

6.If you want to grow your heart to be more generous, to trust God more, and to connect more with His heart – your time, and resources need to be invested into things that are close to God’s heart. What’s one step forward you could make in living this reality out?

7.How have you been blessed? Take some time and list a bunch of ways you’ve been blessed. Then ask this question – how can you be a blessing to others? Pick one or two ways you can do that this week.

8.God wants us to live generously, because He’s a generous God and He wants us to trust Him. What’s the next step you need to take in the Giving Process? (See below for a picture of the giving process)
