RECAP: 2 SIDES OF THE SAME COIN
In this series, we’re talking about fixing our finances. Just like a coin, there’s 2 sides to how finances can affect our lives. This week we looked at how we can experience less or more. If we can save more and spend less, we can live on less and give more, then we have less stress and more joy. We talked today about saving, budget, and generosity, but it really came down to a heart issue of believing there’s more satisfaction than just my own gain or selfish ambitions. Fixing our finances requires us to fix our focus.
QUESTIONS
1) How much are you going to eat for Thanksgiving? Do you have a strategy for consumption?
2) What is something big you saved up to buy with cash or savings? Talk about the process of saving or paying for it.
3) Read Eccesseastes 4:6. What do you think that verse means?
4) If we save more, we need to spend less, but we if live on less, we can give more and then we have less stress and more joy. How have you experience the tension of less verse more?
5) Read Mark 12:41-44. Jesus is more concerned about the heart. How do you see that in verses in Mark and in Matthew 6:24.
6) If we are going to fix our finances, we need to fix our focus. Today we talked about joy and satisfaction in living on less and giving more. Why does that bring more joy and less stress? How have you experienced that in your life?

PRAYER
God I want to look beyond myself. Help me to remember all the ways you have blessed me and may that be my focus. Help me to see my life, my money, other people and situations with your eyes instead of what I think I might need. I need less of me and more of you. Amen.
