GROUP QUESTIONS
1. What is maybe the silliest or funniest thing you’ve ever been worried about?
2. Read Psalm 139:23 This verse is asking God to search us and to know our anxious thoughts. What would God find if he were to see your most anxious thoughts? What do you worry about the most?
3. Anxiety and worry are rooted in the fear of the unknown. What do you think it is about the future that makes us so concerned or keeps us up at night? How do you see this lining up with reality? In other words, how often do our biggest worries come true?
4. Jesus knew that it was easy for us to get caught up in worry and anxiety. More than that, he believed that they could get in the way of our relationship with him and keep us from our best life. That anxiety anxious is a barrier to faith. Read Matthew 6:25-34 What stands out to you most about what Jesus taught in these verses?
5. How can we help each other grow in this way of living more fearlessly, more trusting, and less caught up in worry? How can we live out this teaching of Jesus when we have so many responsibilities?
6. One of the ways we can become fearless is by replacing the lies in our head (that come from worry and anxiety) with the truth of who God is. Read Philippians 4:6-9 How can we replace lies with the truth?
7. Our theme verse for this series is Isaiah 41:10 and we’d encourage you to try to memorize it this month. Read Isaiah 41:10. How can this verse help us overcome worry and anxiety and live more fearlessly?
