Live Connected - Sermon

Pastor Joel E. Gregory
“Live Connected”

Introduction:

Real-life change happens in the context of relationships. In the Bible, they worshiped in the temple but ministry happened house to house.

At Linked UP Church, we believe our church must grow LARGER and SMALLER at the same time.

Hebrews 10:24-25 (TPT)
Acts 2:46-47 (AMPC)
Acts 5:42 (AMPC)
Acts 20:20 (TPT)

A. Small Groups provide three things:

1. A place to Connect. 1 Corinthians 9:22 (AMP)
2. A place to Protect. 1 John 3:16 AMP
3. A place to Grow. Proverbs 27:17 (AMP)
B. How Small Groups work:

1. Connect in Small Groups to Your Passion.

Our groups are as varied as we are. Group leaders use their gifts and passions to create a group that allows others to join with them in serving God. Whatever the age, interest, or location; there is a group that is just right for you.

2. Semester-Based.

New groups start and stop two times a year through our Spring (January – April) and Fall (September – December) Semesters.

3. Becoming a Leader.

We believe that everyone has areas of strength and gifting that could benefit others. The first step in becoming a Small Group leader is to attend the Small Group Leader Orientation. These classes are offered every month in Step 4 to give you an overview of what it takes to start a group. You’ll discover that it’s easier than you think.

C. How do I get connected to a Small Group?

1. Find a Group.

a. Find a group by contacting the church office, visiting our website (www.linkedupchurch.com), or emailing smallgroups@linkedupchurch.com.

b. Contact the leader.

c. If you desire to lead a group, attend Small Group Leader Orientation and get equipped to lead a group that you are passionate about.

2. Commit for a Semester at a time.

New groups start two semesters each year: Spring (January – April) and Fall (September – December). Most groups are open to new members throughout the semester.

3. Experience a Life Change.

You’ll never fully experience what Linked UP Church has to offer until you connect in a Small Group! Small Groups were vital to the first century church’s growth, and they are just as vital now.

Conclusion:

Life is not meant to be lived alone. You were created to experience life with other people, and that’s why at Linked UP, we encourage you to get into a Small Group.

A Small Group is a group of three or more people who gather weekly, biweekly, or monthly during Spring and Fall Semesters in a home, community, workplace, or online. In a group you’ll hang out, do fun things, study the Word, and pray together.

Groups come in all shapes and sizes – Married Couples, Singles (Ages 35- 59), Men, Women, College, Prayer, Workplace, Young Adults, Forever Young (Ages 60 & Older) – the list goes on. No matter where you are in life, there’s a group for you.
