REVERENCE: to honor Him bowing our heads in submission, surrendering. Profound adoration and the fear of the Lord.
AWE: overwhelm with His beauty, consciousness of His infinite power.
Pr 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.”
Collision between Two Camps…
(1 Sa 17:1–11) 2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered, and encamped in the Valley of Elah, and drew up in line of battle against the Philistines. 3 And the Philistines stood on the mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on the mountain on the other side, with a valley between them. 4 And there came out from the camp of the Philistines a champion named Goliath of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. 5 He had a helmet of bronze on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail, and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of bronze. 6 And he had bronze armor on his legs, and a javelin of bronze slung between his shoulders. 7 The shaft of his spear was like a weaver’s beam, and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron. And his shield-bearer went before him. 8 He stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, “Why have you come out to draw up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not servants of Saul? Choose a man for yourselves, and let him come down to me. 9 If he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we will be your servants. But if I prevail against him and kill him, then you shall be our servants and serve us.” 10 And the Philistine said, “I defy the ranks of Israel this day. Give me a man, that we may fight together.” 11 When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.
Camp # 1 Camp of Saul
For forty days they drew battle lines, against one another. Trumpeting the war cry awaiting for one side to take the offensive. Yet no battle took place…Each day Goliath would present himself on the floor of the valley to pick a fight with Israel’s own champion. Day and night, he taunted the Israelites. Goliath intimidated the entire camp…
Camp # 2 Camp of David
Miles away a teenage boy named David, settled down by the fire… He looked up to heavens and gazed at the stars…his spirit was filled with awe and wonder… He took up his harp and began to play a tune that blended in with the sound of bleating sheep.
Ps 9:1 O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens…3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
In A Few days, these two camps would collide… one paralyzed by a giant, the other propelled by God
1 Sa 17:45–47 45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, 47 and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hand.”
For the Israelites, the giant was greater because they were closer to the giant than they were to God
For David, God was greater because he was closer to God than he was to the giant

The Sermon of the Universe
Ps 19:1–4 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. 2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. 4 Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.
Is 40:12 – God hold the waters of the earth, palm of his hand, measure the entire universe in the span of his hand
Why Solomon wisely said, “27 “But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built!
(1 Ki 8:27).
