Lust, gluttony, and greed are all excessive or disordered love of good things.
Wrath, envy, and pride are perverted love directed toward the harm of another.
And sloth is a deficiency of love.
Idolatry: Image-worship or divine honor paid to any created object.
Every time God gives us a good and perfect gift, Satan introduces a counterfeit.
“they traded the true God for a fake god,and worshiped the god they made instead of the God who made them”
Greed can take up so much room on the throne of our hearts that there’s no room for Jesus to sit down.
Life does not consist in the abundance of possessions; life exists in the abundance of God!
Our God is a God of abundance, not scarcity.
Wealth is not bad.
God gives us wealth so that we can use that gift for his glory.
Tithing was created for our benefit.
Tithing teaches us how to:
Put God first
Be good stewards of our resources
Be a blessing to others

OUR LITTLE IS A LOT…
OUR LITTLE IS A LOT… BIGGER IN GOD’S HANDS
“Generosity begets generosity.”
The world defines wealth as an abundance of valuable possessions or money, but this is incomplete.
True wealth is every piece of a healthy, joyful, Christ-centered life, brought together for the glory of God.
Spiritual health = complete wealth
“Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.”
-Epictetus
-Epictetus
When we cultivate contentment, we kill the killer of greed in our lives.
You can count money, but you can't count on money.
Get rich or die tryin’…
Greed is God wanting glory so much that he forces us to give Him glory.
Generosity is God giving us His son and inviting us into His glory.
Generosity is the weapon you use to kill the killer called Greed.
In Christian theology, Charity is considered as one of the seven virtues and is understood by Thomas Aquinas as "the friendship of man for God", which "unites us to God". He holds it as "the most excellent of the virtues". Further, Aquinas holds that "the habit of charity extends not only to the love of God, but also to the love of our neighbor".
Charity = Generosity
Generosity allows us to move from inward to outward.
Generosity allows us to move from selfish to selfless.
“The greedy are excessive in acquiring and keeping possessions, even to the point of depriving others of what they deserve or need. Greed cause callousness toward those in need.”
-Rebecca DeYoung
-Rebecca DeYoung
Why would we choose compounded misery and callousness?
We have a priceless inheritance!
While we wait for that day, let’s kill this killer and fight greed with G.R.E.E.D.
