Sermon Title: The Protection of the King

Sermon Text: Hosea 11:1; Matthew 2:13-15

Israel was viewed as God's son.

The statement by Hosea referred back to Israel's Exodus and forward to Jesus coming out of Egypt by God's protection through typology.

A type is prophetic because god gives a pattern in one era which prophetically points to fulfillment in a future time which is what took place when Christ was called out of Egypt.

Bible prophecy shows you can't catch God by surprise.

God needed obedient people...Joseph and Mary.

Our obedience to God protects us from destructive situations.

Living the Word Applications:

Look at the protection of the King...take an intelligent look at Jesus.

Look at the protection of the King...pay attention to warnings. v.13

Look at the protection of the King...to obey you might have to do something strange.

Obedience doesn't mean it will be easy or you won't face trial but if God is telling you to do it. He will protect your through it.

Look at the protection of the King...our unfaithfulness doesn't nullify the faithfulness of God.
