Luke 1:25-38

God made a promise at the very beginning of time in the Garden of Eden that He would one day send the Messiah of the Jews and the Savior of the world to planet earth.
Virgin Birth was one of the most discussed doctrines in 20th century of American evangelicalism.
Pew Research Center said. Overall, 66 percent of Americans believe Jesus was born to a virgin, down from 73 percent in 2014. While some might expect nonbelievers to wrestle with doubts about the Christmas story as relayed in the Bible, the new research says there are actually signs of growing doubts from Christian groups as well.
I. The Person God Uses

Luke 1:26-30

- Mary was of lowly estate and lived in a no-name-town. From human standards Mary was an unimportant teenager, but to God she was special.
- Mary was a virgin. She had integrity. The word Parthenos in this context means "one who has not yet had sexual relations."
- The angel Gabriel called Mary "highly favored one," meaning one who is enriched with grace.
- God chose her to bear His Son.
- Only God can bestow grace on sinners.
II. The Privilege of Being Used of God

Luke 1:31-33

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and ...my Father honour. (John 12:26)
Mary would bear God’s Son
- This is fulfilled in Luke 2:21.
- 'Jesus' is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Joshua.
- The original full form of His Hebrew name is Jehoshua or Yeshua. You will call his name Joshua—Yahweh is salvation, Yahweh saves, Jehovah will save. God the Father named Him for He will be the One who will accomplish redemption.
Jesus' Greatness
- "He will be great." He will be called the Son of the Most High.
- He is the Son of God.
- He is the Son whose throne will be established forever.
III. The Plan

Luke 1:34-38

Mary’s Question (Luke 1:34)
- “How shall this be, seeing I know not a man: I am a virgin?”
- This further proves the truth of the Virgin Birth. “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord.”
For-runner: John the Baptist (Luke 1:36-37)
- The conception of John the Baptizer was in a sense miraculous.
- It is a miracle that this could happen to people well advanced in years.
Fulfilled Promises (Luke 1:37)
Servant (Luke 1:38)
Conclusion
In this passage we see the three elements involved in our personal salvation.
