Teenagers: is there good ones? Yes and yes a thousand times over yes!

· Teenagers= Be Afraid
· Confusing, terrible, tumultuous, time of stepping out of childhood into adulthood
· The world created “adolescents.”
· 40% & 50% by Psychologist
· It’s a trap to keep adults acting like children
· Get back to God’s idea
How do you navigate the teenager years?
I. LOVE: unconditionally
· They will make mistakes
· Don’t make them perform
· Don’t be embarrassed
· Your love is never on the table
· Love is not acceptance of behavior
II. ENGAGE
· Conversations: don’t go crazy when they say something crazy, work thru things
· Make them participate: they need to feel like they belong
· Be involved in what they are doing
· Fine Line: don’t pester, don’t stop
III. INVITE THE HOLY SPIRIT IN
· Model godly adulthood in front of them
· Bring in the Word of God
II Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV
· Pray for them & with them
· Don’t freak out when they say things
· Don’t get offended for them, show them how to get past things
IV. LET THEM GROW
· Give them task: learn responsibility
· Don’t lower the standard
· Right of passage
