Luke 10:25-37

Loophole - Luke 10:25-37
“Jesus expanded “neighbor” beyond the boundaries of Judea and Galilee, beyond a single ethnicity. He broadened the definition beyond His first century setting. And He did it with one perfectly timed and designed question, “who is my neighbor”. A question that continues to force even the most upright among us to examine our hearts and prejudices, our innate contempt for those who aren’t like us.”
(Andy Stanley, from the book, “Irresistible”; pg. 188)

A promise from God to “claim” this week… “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”
(Revelation 1:8, NLT)

Questions for reflection...
1. What are ways you can “go and do likewise” following the Samaritan’s example? In our church family? In your community? In the work place?
2. What can you learn about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in these verses?
3. What do you learn about yourself or others in these verses?
4. How will you apply what you’ve learned today? Be specific.

STICKY STATEMENT
Don’t focus on the loophole and ignore the person in need! We all need to be ready and willing to serve one another!
