Our comfort, or the comfort of those we love, affects many of the decisions
that we make

Are we putting our comfort ahead of who God wants us to be and what God wants us to do?

Have we gotten comfortable and complacent?

Matthew 14:26-27

Matthew 14:29 “Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water
and came toward Jesus.”

Peter is drive by his faith in Jesus, not his comfort.

Matthew 14:30-31

“You make me brave.”

We fail to take steps of obedience when we’re too focused on our comfort

There is a cost to our comfort

Jesus gives us the same invitation He extended to Peter… “Come. Take a step of faith and live your life pursuing me.

Matthew 14:32-33

Your choice to pursue the couch or the cross has an impact on others.

Matthew 26:38-39

“If it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.”

Aren’t you glad Jesus chose to be obedient instead of comfortable?

The goal is not to live in a constant state of discomfort, but to live in
obedience to Jesus, even when it means being uncomfortable

Jesus is far more concerned about our spiritual growth than our comfort

about living in comfort or living in obedience to Jesus?
