Point 2: Out with the Old

Point 3: In with the New

“Christ has been pleased to make us new men. His saints are "new creatures in Christ Jesus." They have a new nature. God has breathed into them a new life. The Holy Spirit, though the old nature is still there, has been pleased to put within them a new nature. There is now a contending force within them--the old carnal nature inclining to evil, and the new God-given nature panting after perfection. They are new men, "begotten again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." This new nature is moved by new principles. The old nature needed to be awed with threatenings, or bribed with rewards; the new nature feels the impulse of love.” - C.H. Spurgeon

How to live according to the NEW nature

Salvation: Give your life to Jesus (Believe in your heart, confess with your mouth); this is the entry level step into the life God has for you. Kind of impossible to live a Godly life if you aren’t saved.

Devotional life: This daily practice will do wonders for growing in a Godly life; Jesus made it a point to spend time with the father EVERY single day

Prayer: Communication with God is key to living in the new nature; the only voice we want to allow in our lives is the Lords (He speaks through His word, prayer, worship, Godly leaders)

Obedience: As the Lord shows us the things that must change or that He wants us to do, the only reasonable response is obedience. Rebellion will destroy you, and is a primary tenet of the OLD nature

Keep Jesus on the throne of your heart: There can only be one ruler of your life, you cannot serve two masters. Jesus is the best option to help you succeed in this life and prepare you for the next!
