The Tongue
Every word builds up or burns down. There is no neutral word.
Wisdom is seeing life the way God sees it and having the courage to live accordingly.
Proverbs is a description of how Jesus actually lived.
“Dabar” means word as event. Word as action.
Something that happens when it is spoken.
Your words are not neutral. They make something happen.

Most things don't get fixed by more words. They get worse.
The same mouth can wound a person or heal them, and you're choosing which one every time you speak.
A gentle answer isn't being weak.
It takes more strength to cool a fight than to win one.

Pick one full day. And on that day….no complaining, no sarcasm, no gossip, no tearing down, no responding to wrath with wrath.
1. What did I want to say that I didn't?
2. And what does that tell me about what my words have been forming in me?
That same day, speak one intentional, life-giving sentence to three different people.
Before the words leave my mouth ask…
What are they going to build?
