hey
Who has been a “Jacob” to you? Who was someone who helped disciple you toward the cross?
"Easier to find a god in Athens than a person.”
– Petronius
Epicureans believed that IF there were gods, they weren’t concerned with humanity, and the goal of life was to avoid pain and chase personal happiness.
Stoics believed god was in everything, and the goal of life was to master your emotions and live with steady self-control no matter what happens.
Rather than critique, he starts with a compliment
Rather than critique, he starts with a compliment
Rather than a critique he starts with a complement, he looks for common ground…
Paul is establishing:
• God’s power — Creator of everything.
• God’s personal nature — Close. Near. Not far from any of us.
• God’s goodness — Seeking our benefit, not His own.
Rather than a critique he starts with a compliment, he looks for common ground, he knows their culture
“For in him we live and move and have our being”
– Epimenides of Crete, around 600 B.C.

“For we are also his offspring.”
– Aratus, a Stoic poet from Cilicia (Paul’s home region).
Rather than a critique he starts with a compliment, he looks for common ground, he knows their culture, finally he connects it all with Christ!
Rather than a critique he starts with a compliment, he looks for common ground, he knows their culture, finally he connects it all with Christ!
Who is someone in your life that, when you think of them, your soul says, “God, I want them to know You. I ache for them”?

Share and pray for them as a table.

Christmas Initiative: Angel Tree

Our Angel Tree is now set up in the atrium, and we’d love for you to help spread Christmas hope to families in our community. Pick a tag from the tree, each one represents a child whose parent is incarcerated or who is in foster care, then purchase, wrap, and deliver the gift to the child you chose. It’s a simple but powerful way to show God’s love this season and help a family feel His care. The Angel Tree will be available through December 21.

Year End Giving

As 2025 draws to an end, we want to give you a few reminders about year-end giving. Services on December 21 will be the last opportunity to contribute via a giving box. You may still give, after that date, via the website, text-to-give, or by a check mailed to our New London Campus. Mailed checks for 2025 giving must be postmarked by December 31.

Holiday Schedule

There will be no services on Sunday, December 28. Both campuses will be closed for the week starting Monday, December 22, and will reopen on Monday, December 29. No groups/ministries will meet onsite during that week. The buildings will be closed.

Groups

Groups are intended to bring us together to experience authentic discipleship and life-giving community. Each group has its own focus, centered on biblically based content, working toward our greater mission of helping people follow Jesus. We have groups for couples, women, men, singles, seniors, moms & those still in college.

Serving Opportunities

Have you ever wondered what it truly means to serve? It’s more than just doing a good deed—it’s a transformative journey that draws us closer to God and shapes us in powerful ways.

When we say yes to serving, God equips us, fills us, and walks with us through it all. It’s not just about helping—it’s about stepping into His purpose and experiencing His heart more deeply.

If you’ve been sensing that nudge to serve, now’s the time to take a step. Stop by the Info Center to learn more about serving or visiting our website to see what opportunities are available.
