https://reallifechurchkc.com/planyourvisitSeries Description:
We begin what we truly believe will be the most important series we have ever done in the life of our church—Difference Maker. This 6-week journey is about building a movement of God—it’s about Your Faith. Our Generosity. Their Forever.
For eight years, God has written a story at Real Life that only He could write—thousands of lives changed, over 177 baptisms, prodigals coming home. But we are convinced the next chapter will be even greater. Through this series, we will step into that future together, united in faith and generosity, believing God to do immeasurably more in our city and beyond.
That’s why we’re asking you to make every effort to be here for all six weeks. Don’t miss one moment of what God wants to do. This is a defining season for our church family—and your presence matters.
Let’s step forward together as Difference Makers.

Message Description:
David’s greatest gift wasn’t gold—it was faith. This Sunday’s message will shake your perspective on what it means to truly live by faith.
When King David became comfortable in his palace, he didn’t even notice that the Ark of God—the symbol of God’s presence—was still under a tent. Years later, God would use a costly moment to remind David that His presence is worth any sacrifice.
We’re continuing our Difference Maker series with a powerful message titled “Motivated by Faith.”
You’ll learn:
✅ How comfort can quietly pull you away from calling.
✅ Why counting your own ability limits God’s power.
✅ How generosity opens the door for God’s presence and provision.
It’s not about money or buildings—it’s about souls and stories. When we stop counting on ourselves and start counting on God, He meets us in ways we never imagined.
See what happens when faith moves first. Let’s step forward together as Everyday Difference Makers together.

2 SUBTLE YET PARALYZING TEMPTATIONS BLESSINGS:
1. BEING VERY PREOCCUPIED WITH COMFORT!!!
2. Counting our Ability and NOT COUNTING ON GOD!
FIRST TEMPTATION OF BEING VERY PREOCCUPIED WITH COMFORT!
SECOND TEMPTATION OF COUNTING YOUR OWN ABILITY!
DAVID MADE THE MISTAKE OF COUNTING ON HIS OWN POWER AND PROVISION and NOT GOD’S.
WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WE STOPPED COUNTING OUR ABILITY and START COUNTING ON GOD’S ABILITY!
THAT’S WHEN GOD’S PRESENCE MEETS US THE MOST!
YOU’RE GIVING IS A CONDUIT FOR GOD’s LOVE TO REACH PEOPLE.
TALK IT OVER
1. When Comfort Feels Safer than Calling
David lived in a palace while God’s presence still rested under a tent.
- Where in your life have you become comfortable while God is calling you to move?
- What might “the tent” look like in your faith right now—something unfinished or neglected that God is waiting for you to notice?
2. Counting Our Ability vs. Counting on God
David took a census to measure his strength instead of trusting God’s.
- What are you currently “counting”—finances, time, ability—that’s keeping you from trusting God fully?
- What does it look like to count on God instead?
3. The Cost of Worship
David said, “I will not offer to the Lord what costs me nothing.”
- What does “costly worship” mean to you?
- When have you given something to God that truly required faith to let go?
4. When Faith Becomes Personal
David built an altar and gave from his own resources.
- Why is it easier to give when it’s convenient—but harder when it’s personal?
- What would it look like for your generosity to be a reflection of your relationship with God rather than your comfort level?
5. Seeing Generosity with Fresh Eyes
Generosity isn’t about what God wants from us—it’s what He wants for us.
- How have you seen giving change someone else’s life—or your own?
- What do you think God is trying to open your eyes to right now?
6. Faith Before Provision
God provided fire from heaven after David stepped out in obedience.
- Why does God often wait for our obedience before showing His provision?
- Where might God be waiting on your step of faith?
7. Holy Discontent
Ezra rebuilt what had been destroyed 500 years after David. He refused to accept that God’s house could remain in ruins.
- What “holy discontent” has God placed in your heart—something that breaks you or stirs you to action?
- How could generosity become part of God’s answer to that burden?
8. Faith that Leaves a Legacy
David’s altar became the Holy of Holies in the Temple—the very place God’s presence would dwell.
- How could your faith and generosity build something that outlives you?
What kind of legacy do you want to leave through your giving and obedience?
