Part 2 - What About Demons?
Our world is fascinated with darkness, but most of what we believe about demons comes from movies, myths, or fear—not Scripture. This week in our Supernatural series, we’re asking the real question: Should we be afraid? Jesus made it clear that evil is real, but it’s already defeated. In this message, we’ll uncover what the Bible actually says about the unseen world, how the enemy really works, and how to live with confidence in the authority and peace that Christ has already given us.

Supernatural Series
There’s more to life than what meets the eye. From beginning to end, the Bible assumes an unseen spiritual realm—a world filled with God’s purposes, loyal spiritual beings, and very real opposition—that shapes our reality in ways we often overlook. Too often, we live as if only what we can see is real, and we miss the bigger story God is telling.
In this 5-week series, we’ll pull back the curtain on the supernatural world behind Scripture. We’ll explore who’s really at work in the unseen realm, why it matters for the battles we face today, and how God’s heavenly host is fighting for His people. Most importantly, we’ll discover how living with eyes wide open changes the way we see our struggles, our purpose, and our hope in Christ.

Scripture invites us to live aware.
The powers of darkness are real… but they’re also defeated.
What Scripture show us about demons:
1.Where they came from
2. What they actually do
“Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)
“In your anger, do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” Ephesians 4:26–27 (NLT)
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (NLT)
“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” John 8:32 (NLT)
3. What Jesus did about it
Yes, I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning! Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy… But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.” Luke 10:18–20 (NLT)
“In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.” Colossians 2:15 (NLT)
Why This Matters
“Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” Philippians 2:9–10 (NLT)
So how can we face evil?
1. We don’t fight for victory — we fight from it.
“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy…” Luke 10:19 (NLT)
2. Renounce. Receive. Reaffirm.
Renounce the lies: “I renounce every spirit of fear, every lie that says I’m unprotected or alone.”
Receive the truth: “I receive Your covering, Jesus—Your blood, Your cross, Your resurrection, Your authority.”
Reaffirm who you are: “I am Yours, and You are Lord over my life, my home, my mind, my day.”
3. Stay alert, not afraid.
4. Stay connected.

Jesus, we come to You right now—together, as Your people.
We belong to You.
We stand in the victory You already won.
We bring our hearts, our homes, and our minds under Your rule and Your protection.
Cover us with Your peace and fill us with Your Spirit.
We renounce every lie of fear and every voice that is not Yours.
We receive Your truth—
that You are with us,
that You are stronger,
that You have already overcome.
Jesus, be Lord here.
Be Lord in our lives, in our families, and in this church.
We choose to live in Your light
and to carry Your hope into the world.
In Your strong and beautiful name we pray,
Amen.

Prayers We Pray
Life in this world is spiritual. We don’t just face challenges we can see—we face fears, lies, and pressures we can’t. But we don’t face them alone. Jesus has already won the victory. He’s given us His peace, His Spirit, and His authority to stand firm. Prayer is how we live in that victory.
These prayers aren’t magic words or formulas. They’re ways of aligning our hearts with what’s true. Ways of remembering who we are, what’s already been won, and who stands with us in every battle. Use them to start your day, to pray over your family, or to find peace when fear tries to creep in.
Pray them out loud. Pray them slowly. Let truth do what it always does—push back the dark.
Because evil is real. But it’s already lost. And we get to live like it.
