Focus Verse - 1 Peter 2:24. Go around the room and have each person read the verse this way. Yell the capitalized portion of the verse. "He personally carried my sins in his body on the cross so that I CAN BE DEAD TO SIN AND LIVE FOR WHAT IS RIGHT. By his wounds I am healed."
** Icebreaker - what's the heaviest item you've ever had to lift? **
** Are you feeling guilty and holding on to past sins in your closet that Jesus forgave you for when they should be dead and buried? **
Sean talked about that "buts" that we use to keep our skeletons in the closet.
Read Colossians 2:13-14.
1. Is there any area of your life where you are struggling to believe that God can forgive you?
2. How would your life change if you would truly believe that God will forgive that sin and that it no longer has to have a hold on you?
3. What does it look like to live believing that you are ALIVE with Christ?

3. What does it look like to live believing that you are ALIVE with Christ?
Read Romans 6:17-18.
4. Given that Jesus freed us from slavery to sin, what are your excuses to keep on sinning?
5 How would it change you if you lived like you were FREE from slavery to sin?
** 6. What does it look like to be a "slave to righteous living?" **

Read Romans 3:24.
7. As a group, say the following - "God, I can't repay you, and yet you want to free me. So please destroy my skeletons." Spend a few moments silently reflecting on the power of this.

Guided Prayer (leader, include the following in your prayer time) - "God, you know the skeletons that we have hidden in our closets. We know that your power is greater than the power of sin. Help us to live as your sons and daughters who have been freed from the hold of sin. Let us walk every day in your power as you make us alive in Christ!"
