Love & Light: Faith That Is Certain

Love & Light: Faith That Is Certain

This passage answers an important question: How can you
__________? That is, how can ___________?
When we ask John these questions, he gives us two answers:
1.The ___________ to Jesus Christ
This is __________ and ___________.
2.The _______________ of the Holy Spirit
This is ___________ and _____________.
When John uses the phrase “the water and the blood” in this
passage, he is talking about Jesus’ ______________ and his __________. He uses this expression because his original audience would have recognized it as a reference to _____________.
The two answers John gave, which are listed above, are not
______________. They ___________.
We need __________!
The ________________ alone is not enough because it is not ____________. You know ____________, but you don’t know ___________.
However, it is essential because the _____________ can be ____________.
Questions to ponder and discuss:
1.On a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being “I wish it were true, but I don’t think it is,” and 10 being, “I am absolutely certain,” how certain are you of the truth of the gospel?
2.How important is each of the witnesses to your faith?
