THE "PROGRAM" IN THE WAITING ROOM (1:12-26)
12-14)
"As they waited ON the Lord, they didn't wander FROM the Lord and His people."

What do you do when you are in that "waiting room" with God?
Lesson #1 - be in fellowship with other believers.
Hebrews 10:24-25
Philippians 1:27

Lesson #2 - be in prayer with other believers.
"In praise comes perspective; in praise often comes peace."

"Prayer would help prepare them to be in cooperation with what God wanted to do next."

"God is not reluctant to move, He's wanting to move!"

"Before the power of ch. 2, comes the prayer of ch. 1. Before the power falls, the prayers rise!"

Lesson #3 - be in the Word applying it to your life.
15-20) He points out prophecy and then puts forth a plan

"When you don't know what to do next, go back to God's Word for guidance and direction."

21-22) The plan included someone who was FAMILIAR with Jesus' ministry and also knew the FULLNESS of it.

23-26) 2 men put forth, prayed over, and casting lots.
"we often only see a few options when we bring things to the Lord. But God may have other plans I can't see yet. Wait on Him to reveal His will in His time."

THE PLAN IN DETERMINING GOD'S WILL WHILE I'M WAITING:
How do I determine God's Will while I'm waiting?
1)Look to the Word.
2) Use common sense.
3) Continue in prayer.
4) Let the Spirit lead.

THE PURPOSE FOR WAITING:
1) GOD'S PLAN - it is perfect in timing and purpose.

2) GOD'S PERSON - waiting builds character in me.
Isaiah 40:31

3) GOD'S PROTECTION - waiting guards me from grave mistakes or fleshly moves.
Psalm 27:14
Isaiah 25:9
