ANALYSIS/APLLICATION: The Making of Missions
1. The Making of Missions begins with a Call.
Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.
Gen 12:1
WORD POWER: Called- To be called by God is to be chosen by God for certain purposes. When a person is aware of that call and surrenders to it, he or she starts living out God’s purpose for him or her.
“Listen, O coastlands, to Me, And take heed, you peoples from afar! The Lord has called Me from the womb; From the [a]matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name.Isaiah 49:1
The Call to a leave your worldly Principles.
The Call to leave your People.
The Call to your new Place.
2. The Making of Missions extends through a Covenant.
I will make you a great nation; I will bless you, And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” V 2-3
Note, All God’s precepts are attended with promises to the obedient.
The Covenant Promise of being a great Nation.
The Covenant Promise of Blessing.
The Covenant Promise of having a great Name.
The Covenant Promise of being a Blessing.
The Covenant Promise of Blessing those who Bless us and Cursing those who Curse us.
The Covenant Promise of ALL Families of the earth being Blessed through us.
3. The Making of Missions depends on our Commitment.
So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. Vs 4
A Commitment to Obedience
A Commitment to the Journey
Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.”Rev 21:5
APPLICATION: Have you Settled the Call in your Soul?
We will never Fully Embrace the Mission until we Fully embrace the Call!
