Your life is made up by the choices you make not by the chances you take.
Having a made up mind is “a willingness do the hard and heart work to find and follow the will of God for our lives.”
Make up your mind, or life will make it up for you.

1. Our thoughts and decisions shape us and create for us the lives we live.
When God created Adam & Eve, He created them with the ability to make choices.
Genesis 2:15-17 (ESV)
15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Man was given free will to make choices in life that would set things in motion.

2. If you are going to make good decisions you can’t live life wavering between two opinions.

1 Kings 18:20-21 (ESV)
20 So Ahab sent for all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together on Mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, foll
Key Truth: The choices you make are acts of worship.

1 Kings 18:38-39 (ESV)
38 Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!”

Doubt is the seed-bed of double mindedness.

James 1:6-8 (ESV)6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Double-minded (Gk. dipsuchos): ”two-souled" or "two-minded."

One part of your mind on eternal things and one part on temporal (temporary/earthly).
Lust of the eyes, Lust off the Flesh, Pride of Life

Faith demands a made-up mind. A mind that is “Set”.
Two Consequences of Wavering
Instability: Waves of the sea
Fruitlessness: The lack of decisive faith in the person who is double minded hinders their ability to receive God's wisdom and blessings.

Colossians 3:1-3 (ESV)1If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
As Christians we are called to live out our faith in our everyday choices and our everyday choices are acts of worship
Every choice is spiritual....big or small.

Matthew 7 Two Roads: -one wide, easy, and crowded -the other narrow, difficult, and few find it.
-Wide Road = Self-will, ease, compromise.
-Narrow Road = Surrender, obedience, focused on the eternal (things above)
