Pax Romana - peace protection Ephesus (Riot in Ephesus this was used to quell. We could lose our status of financial/protection).

Anthropomorphism - attributing human shape tot he gods.
Theogamy - the marriage between a god and a mortal.
Theosis - the process whereby humans become divine.

BEMA JUDGEMENT
Bema - The Bema judgement in Roman Cities was a public place in the Agora, where accused revolutionaries or those who had insulted Rome came for public shaming. Bema judgments were about loyalty to Rome.

Example 1
Jesus before Pilot
Matthew 27

Example 2
Paul in Corinth went before Gallio to see if he was against Rome
Acts 18:12-17 While Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews coordinated an attack on Paul and brought him before the judgment seat.13“This man is persuading the people to worship God in ways contrary to the law,” they said.14But just as Paul was about to speak, Gallio told the Jews, “If this matter involved a wrongdoing or vicious crime, O Jews, it would be reasonable for me to hear your complaint. 15But since it is a dispute about words and names and your own law, settle it yourselves. I refuse to be a judge of such things.” 16And he drove them away from the judgment seat.
17At this, the crowd seized Sosthenes the synagogue leader and beat him in front of the judgment seat. But none of this was of concern to Gallio.

Example 3
Paul told the Corinthians we will all undergo a Bema judgement before Jesus related to what we did in this life for Him.
2 Corinthians 5:1-10 Therefore we are always confident, although we know that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord.7For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9So we aspire to please Him, whether we are at home in this body or away from it. 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive his due for the things done in the body, whether good or bad.
