To Be Continued | Week 22 | Ken LaMont

“Conflict is inevitable, but combat is optional.” – Max Lucado

HOW TO DEAL WITH CONFLICT:

1. EXPECT IT
What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? - James 4:1-2

2. DEAL WITH IT
“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.
- Matthew 5:23-24

Make the First Move!

3. CHECK YOUR HEART (Log Removal)
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to yourbrother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out ofyour own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
– Matthew 7:3-5

4. LISTEN / ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR HURT
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry – James 1:19

5. FOCUS ON RECONCILLIATION
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: - 2 Corinthians 5:18
