In support of Abuse Prevention Emphasis Day, the Women’s Ministries Department will host a virtual seminar on Friday, August 22, from 8:00 until 9:30pm. This event will be facilitated by Dr. Dion Gnanakkan and Dr. Starry Manoharan, who will present on the topic of Generational Abuse. Their presentation will explore the patterns, impact, and healing process related to abuse passed down through families, with a focus on awareness, prevention, and breaking the cycle.

Children’s Choir Concert
We are excited to announce The Beltsville Children’s Choir is planning its 2nd Annual Children’s Choir Concert on Sabbath, September 6, at 4pm, with a reception to follow.
We would like to extend a special invitation to children, youth and young adults who may be interested in ministering on the program. So, if you sing, play an instrument or do spoken word let us know!

We are excited that another year of Pathfinders will be
beginning soon! This is a great opportunity for young people in grades 5-12 to have fun learning about God and nature. Registration for the 2025–2026 Pathfinder year is now open Online.

Worship in the Mountains
Sabbath, September 13 at Mount Aetna Retreat Center. Plan to be there by 10:30am.
Join us for a special day of worship in God’s beautiful first book—Nature—in the peaceful and scenic surroundings of Mount Aetna. Worship will take place at the outdoor amphitheater from 11am to 12pm.
The day will include:
•An afternoon hike
•Group activities for all ages
•Access to the Nature Center
•An evening bonfire
This is a church-wide event and members from all campuses are encouraged to attend.
Lunch will be provided for everyone who registers in advance by Monday, September 1. Supper is available for $11 per person (children 9 and under eat free). If you do not register, please plan to bring your own food. Register today so we can plan accordingly and have meals ready for you! Scan the QR code in the paper bulletin to register.

It’s That Time Again!
We’re beginning the first step of the process for selecting church ministry leaders for the next term (October 2025 – September 2027).
In this first step, we are nominating members for the Special Committee, the group that will prayerfully select the Nominating Committee.
You can submit your nominations in one of three ways:
1. Fill out the form inside your church bulletin and place it in the offering plate during the tithe and offering call.
2. Drop it in the basket labeled “Nominating Committee” at the welcome desk in the church foyer.
3. Scan the QR code in the paper bulletin and fill out the form online.

Video Game Addiction
A two-year study involving more than 3,000 school-aged children
found that video game addiction is linked to serious issues such as depression, anxiety, social phobias, and lower academic
performance. Children who stopped playing excessively showed reduced symptoms over time but still experienced higher levels of distress compared to those who were never addicted.
The American Academy of Pediatrics advises limiting total screen time—including television, videos, and video games—to no more than two hours per day. By setting healthy screen-time boundaries, parents can help reduce the risk of poor school performance and mental health challenges.
