many times, we strike out at others in frustration and blame them for our problems instead of just taking ownership for our part and asking for forgiveness.

God sees you today no matter what situation you are in or how far you have run from Him.

no matter what mistakes we have made, God is ready to rescue us and fulfill His promises to us. He simply wants us to trust Him and His timing.

He is God Almighty…El Shaddai.

God has made and fulfilled His promise to us today by sending His One and Only Son Jesus to live for us, die for us, raise to life for us, and intercede for us. Our responsibility to Him is to accept His free gift of Salvation and to obey and follow Him.

So why circumcision?
•It’s a personal, physical, and painful commitment to God.
•This symbolized the cutting away of the flesh, representing a commitment to purity and separation unto God.
•Circumcision served as a constant reminder of the covenant and the identity of the Israelites as God's people.
•It’s a sign of obedience to Him in all matters.
•Even during intimacy, we should remember our covenant to honor God in all things.
•Going forward, this act was to be performed on the eighth day after birth, as later specified in Leviticus 12:3, which aligns with modern medical understanding that blood clotting is optimal on this day and was probably also a health measure for God’s people.
•In the New Testament, circumcision becomes a type of spiritual circumcision, where the focus shifts to the circumcision of the heart, symbolizing inner transformation and faith in Christ. (Romans 2:29, Colossians 2:11).

Jesus’ death on the cross was also personal, physical, and painful. His bloody death on the cross was personal to Him and personal for us and He physically had to take the punishment of all of our sins on Him, and it was painful, and His blood was shed for us to cover our sin and provide a lasting and eternal covenant.

“Even people of great faith may have doubts. When God seems to want the impossible and you begin to doubt His leading, focus on God’s commitment to fulfill His promises to you, and then follow through and complete the task He has given you.” Genesis 17 Life Application Study Bible

God has constantly and consistently shown that He is faithful even when our faith is weak. He cares for us and provides for us and never leaves us or forsakes us even when we doubt Him.

What does our commitment look like to God?

Are we willing to make a personal, physical, and even painful commitment to Him?

Today, our commitment to Him starts with trusting is Jesus, God’s One and Only Son for Salvation and trusting Him daily as we follow Him.
