The Heart of a Servant - Jonas Marie Jeanne
Many of us, at some point in life, have found ourselves desiring to be above everything. We want to be superior in our decisions, to be the voice that influences outcomes, to lead in relationships, in our workplaces, even sometimes in the church. Deep down, there’s a human impulse that drives us to seek prominence and authority. However, when his Disciples had a similar request, Jesus reminded them that whoever wants to be great must first be a servant. We should not be fixated on status, but rather be willing to serve in whatever area God has placed us in.

1. Servanthood requires willingness and love
- Serving Christ and His people cannot be driven by duty alone — it must flow from a heart that loves God and is willing to serve, regardless of recognition or position.

2. Servanthood requires commitment, not convenience
- When it comes to serving, it’s not about being comfortable, but about being committed, even when it costs us time, energy, resources, and convenience.

3. Servanthood requires humility
- True servanthood flows from a heart of humility.
- Our focus in servanthood should not be on the sacrifices we make, but on the sacrifice Christ has made for us.
