2 Chronicles 20 - The Battle After the Battle

2 Chronicles 20:15 NKJV
‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle'.

Just because it makes sense to the world doesn’t mean it is a wise decision.

Just because it makes sense according to old tradition doesn’t mean it is wisdom for today.

Just because there are many who support it, it doesn’t mean it is wisdom from the Lord.

Jehoshaphat’s response to fear was:
- Seek the Lord.
- Dig in deep.
- Call in the people.

We are not going to head in a new direction but we are going to run the plow deeper than we ever have to leave a lasting impression.

We need to come to the place of such maturity that when we face fear we don’t turn to our friends, we don’t rely on ourselves, we don’t throw up a post on social media, but we run to our Father in Heaven!

Dependance upon God requires reliance upon His people.

Jehoshaphat’s response to fear was:

I am calling us, as a church to a 21 day fast starting next Sunday August 10th. Ask the Lord what you should fast.

If we step in and try to fight the battle our way we are inviting God to leave. And we will deserve the loss and pain that comes with that.

They kept God as the center of their hope and worship.

They made God a priority of their lips.
