Romans 10:11-15
“Steps to the Savior”

Introduction
1. Sovereignty is chapters 9-11. In chapter 9 God elects, chooses, calls. In chapter 10 man has a responsibility. ‘Righteousness’ is a key word in chapters 9 and 10 (9:28, 30, 31; 10:3, 4, 5, 10) Salvation is as near as your mouth and heart (v. 8). Confess Jesus as Lord (agree with God), believe in thine heart that Jesus is the complete payment for your sin…thou shalt be saved. Who is this for? (10:11-15)
2. Let’s say you had at your disposal a cure for man’s greatest need. What would you do with it? Before you answer man’s greatest need and biggest problem is sin. There is only one answer: Jesus Christ.
3. You have the cure for man’s biggest problem. What would you do with it?
4. Romans 10:11-15 the steps to the Savior

You have the cure for man’s biggest problem. What would you do with it?
I. THE PLAN OF SALVATION 10:11-13
A. The Availability of Salvation
There is no Distinction in Jesus.
1. Notice the words: Whosoever…Jew and Gentile….all and whosoever once again.
2. This was an offense to the Jew whosoever. Whosoever…does that mean you? Does that mean me?
3. Verse 11 is a quote from (Is. 28:16). Verse 13 is a quote from (Joel 2:32). When it comes to salvation what does God say? Whosoever…that’s anybody! There is no Distinction in Jesus!
B. The Appropriation of Salvation
There is no Disappointment in Jesus.
Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.
1. Believe this is the activating ingredient. It is the key word in salvation (9:33; 10:4, 9, 10, 11, 14, 16).
2. How does salvation become mine? Believe. Belief is not merely an agreement with the facts in the head. It is also an appetite for God in the heart, which fastens on Jesus for satisfaction. (John Piper: Future Grace pgs. 86, 87) There is no Disappointment in Jesus!
*Shall not stand ashamed. Nearly everything you hold near and dear will sooner or later disappoint us.
* “I’ve seen disappointed Christians. I have been disappointed.” You have been disappointed, but not in Jesus…Not now. Not ever…even in death!
C. The Acknowledgement of Salvation
There is no Destitution in Jesus.
1. Another key word is call (12, 13, 14).
2. He calls me, but I call on Him and I call Him as Lord. Whosoever shall call on Jesus as Lord (9, 13). I acknowledge Him. I turn the controls of my life over to Him! There is no Destitution in Jesus!
*The same Lord is continually wealthy to those who call.
*Poverty come when I won’t surrender.
*I can live in my own strength…Christ’s resources never run out…Either to save you for no one is too bad or to keep us.
*He is rich toward all who call on Him!
D. The Acquisition of Salvation
There is no Damnation in Jesus.
Shall be saved.
1. Note the word (10:1, 9, 10, 13) saved.
2. Wrapped up in that word is forgiveness of sin…a right standing before God…His Spirit puts divine life within…He makes us a Son, and part of His family. We have an inheritance in eternity. Heaven instead of hell is mine. His life, hopes, dreams become yours! There is no Damnation in Jesus!
*Apart from Christ you have no hope. You are lost!
*Are you saved?

You have the cure for man’s biggest problem. What would you do with it?
II. THE PROCESS OF SALVATION 10:14-15
Every time someone calls there is a complicated process to salvation.
In reverse order the process is given. We will take it in the correct order of operation:
A. The Power
How shall they proclaim unless they be sent.
1. By what authority…by what power?
2. Go, make disciples and low I am with you. (Mt. 28:19, 20) Lift up your eyes look on the fields they are white unto harvest. The harvest is plenteous, but the laborers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that He would send forth reapers.
(John 4)
B. The Proclaimer
How shall they hear without a proclaimer?
1. God could have chosen angels to get out his message, but God’s means of proclamation is men and women.
2. The spoken word must be done by those who believe. If you don’t tell those who are lost of God’s good news…who will?
C. The Proclamation
How shall they believe in Him Whom they have not heard?
1. If it is upon believing there must be substance…historical facts of His birth, life, death and resurrection. They must hear!
2. This isn’t faith in faith, but resting my wright on a Person!
D. The Persuasion
How shall they call on Him whom they have not believed?
1. Believe…is Resting your weight upon and object. …Is Rolling a burden on…Is Taking refuge in.
2. Believe takes place within (the heart). God does a work or opening the eyes…showing mankind he is lost and in need of a Savior. Something comes alive. “I can see!”
E. The Petition
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved…How shall they call on Whom they have not believed?
1. A work is done in the heart and an agreement is made with the mouth.
2. We have this glorious serum that will change lives. What are you doing with God’s good news?
3. How beautiful are the feet… Do you remember who led you to Christ or was instrumental in you being introduced to Christ? They will always hold a special placed in you heart!

The cure is available…what if you will not take the cure?
YOU WILL DIE!
