Introduction:
Romans 5:6-8
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Prayer Requests:
Read Romans 5:6-8 and 1 Samuel 16:7
1. What are the usual things our current culture looks at when evaluating a person’s value?
2. The typical responses to question 1 include money or financial status, physical appearance, notoriety, or fame, and power and prestige. Does the current culture also elevate internal characteristics? If so, what are they?
3. What do you look for when evaluating a person’s worth or value? Is this different if it is a co-worker? A friend? A spouse or potential spouse? A church member?
4. Name, list verses that show what God is looking forward.
5. How does your list compare with God’s?
6. What can you do to align your criteria to God’s and to live this out?
7. How as a group can you help one another be in alignment with Jesus?
