Introduction
Joshua 24:14-15 NASB
14 “Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. 15 If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Judges 2:6-12 NASB
6 When Joshua had dismissed the people, the sons of Israel went each to his inheritance to possess the land. 7 The people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who survived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of the Lord which He had done for Israel.
8 Then Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of one hundred and ten. 9 And they buried him in the territory of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash. 10 All that generation also were gathered to their fathers; and there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord, nor yet the work which He had done for Israel.11 Then the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals, 12 and they forsook the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods from among the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed themselves down to them; thus they provoked the Lord to anger.

Intention without action is just a wish.
3 Keys to passing down a legacy of faith:
#1 Clear vision of success.
#1 Clear vision of success.
#2 Connection to the past.
Psalm 145:4-6 NASB
4 One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
5 On the glorious splendor of Your majesty
And on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.
6 Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts,
And I will tell of Your greatness.

Prayer Requests:
Group Discussion: Who gave you an early opportunity to grow when you were young?
Read Aloud: Joshua 24:14-15, Judges 2:6-12
1. v.15 “but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua had every intention of leaving a legacy, but that’s not what transpired. Why do our intentions not always turn into reality? Joshua was mentored by Moses. Why do you think he failed to mentor the next generation?
2. v.10-11 “10 All that generation also were gathered to their fathers; and there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord, nor yet the work which He had done for Israel. Then the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals,” Do you agree with list below of three ways to pass on a legacy? Why or Why not? Is there something you would add to the list?
- Clear vision of success, Connection to the past, and creating opportunities.
3. Who can you share your story of faith with this week?
