God revealed His Law through Moses as an expression of His Holy character.
People who seek salvation by the law will be judged by the law as guilty and face the eternal consequences.
Even if leprosy covers just part of the body, the person is still considered unclean.
We cannot ascend to heaven by effort, nor raise Christ up from the grave by striving. He has already come down and risen. The Word is near.
The gospel is powerful because it deals with real sin, satisfies the judgment of a holy God, Christ’s righteousness is applied to us, and this makes us acceptable to God.
