Service: Working in your power to benefit others.
God works to bring us rest. We work to bring others rest.
We were created for a world without lack. God has been working to restore what is lacking. By serving, we join God’s work of restoration.
Principles of service:

1. When you know you’re taken care of, you can take care of others.

2. More power means more opportunity to serve.

3. Those who lower themselves in service will be exalted.

Principles of service:

1. When you know you’re taken care of, you can take care of others.

2. More power means more opportunity to serve.

3. Those who lower themselves in service will be exalted.

Results of Service:

1.God is glorified (1 Peter 4:11)

2.The church is built up (Eph. 4:16)

3.The lost see God (John 13:35)

Groups of people we can serve:

Our families
Our friends
Our church
Our co-workers
Our neighbors
Our community
Christians should stand out as the most unselfish group in society. In a world where everyone looks out for themselves, we ought to look out for others.
How utterly terrible is the current idea that Christians can serve God at their own convenience.

- A.W. Tozer
“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others…

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

– 1 Corinthians 10:23-24; 11:1
Challenge:
Lay down your rights and use your power to serve someone tomorrow.
