God’s love shows up in the prison, not instead of the prison.
God was not just going to deliver him from the prison. He was forming him in it.
2. Faithfulness is measured in obedience & not outcomes.
God doesn’t call us to obedience because of what it might get us—He calls us to obedience because of what it forms in us.
3. God uses setbacks as setups for stewardship.
- What looked like a setback was actually training for what was coming.
- Everyone God uses greatly; He first prepares greatly.
- What might He be preparing you for? What may He be teaching you in these moments of preparation?

REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
1. Have you ever felt like Joseph—faithful, but forgotten? What emotions did that bring up, and how did you continue (or struggle) to trust God in that season?
2. In what ways have you seen God at work not just in the “steps” of your life, but in the “stops”? How has He used moments of delay, disappointment, or hardship to shape your character or direction?
3. What is one gift, skill, or calling God has given you that you’ve been tempted to set aside because it didn’t work out the first time? How might God be asking you to faithfully keep using it—even in hidden or difficult places?
4. What does “the next right thing” look like for you in this season? What is one small act of obedience or faithfulness you sense God inviting you into right now—regardless of the outcome or recognition?
