From June 29 through July 20, we’re collecting a special offering to provide backpacks and school supplies for low-income families at the upcoming Project Hope Kids Fair & Back-to-School Giveaway. Every $30 gift equips one student with the full set of supplies they need to start the school year with confidence. Would you prayerfully consider giving above your regular tithe to help meet this tangible need in our community? Let’s come together to make a difference—one backpack at a time! The Purpose of the Ten Commandments
Scripture: Exodus 19-20
Big Idea: The Ten Commandments point us to our need for Jesus.
1. Why did God give the Ten Commandments?
A. To reveal God’s holiness
B. To expose our sinfulness
C. To instruct His people.
D. To prepare us for Jesus.
2. How the Ten Commandments are structured.
A. Commandments 1-4: Love God
B. Commandments 5-10: Love People
3. What the Law cannot do
A. The Law is now obsolete as a system for righteousness.
B. The Law can’t save anyone.
C. We are saved by faith, not the Law.
D. Give righteousness.
4. Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law.
- By living a sinless life and by dying as the perfect sacrifice.
