3. Church
Ephesians 2:20 says:
“Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the
cornerstone.
Living different means choosing honor, even when it’s difficult— because we trust that God is in control.
1. RECOGNIZE DIVINE DESIGN
Both the authority and role of the state are given by God.

Colossians 1:16-17 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

We need to pray for our leaders

1 Timothy 2:1-2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
2. RESPOND TO RIGHTEOUS RULE
Respect doesn’t always mean agreement.
3. REFLECTING CHRIST’S COMMITMENT

John 19:10–11 (ESV):
10 So Pilate said to Him, “You will not speak to me? Do you not know that I have authority to release you and authority to crucify you?” 11 Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.”

“It is at the cross where God’s law and God’s grace are both most brilliantly displayed, where His justice and His mercy are both glorified. But it is also at the cross where we are most humbled. It is at the cross where we admit to God and to ourselves that there is absolutely nothing we can do to earn or merit our salvation.”
