Foundational Anchors For Embracing Gospel Work
The overarching theme in this chapter as well as the entire book is that Timothy be strong in the grace of God in Christ, that he be courageous and confident, and that he press on in the work God has called him to do, and that when that path of obedience brings difficulty and even suffering he embrace it and not run away.
Anchor #1: Jesus, Christ, the son of David, is risen from the dead and reigns over the world forever. (v.8)

Let us be careful to presuppose the mind and ways of God based on our flesh.
Anchor #4: The eternal life and the eternal reign that God promises to those who endure is rock-solid certain. (vs. 11-13)
Anchor #5: "The Lord knows those who are His." And the evidence we are His is found in our departing from iniquity. (v. 19)
