Galatians: A Gospel Summary - Phil Kendon

Galatians: A Gospel Summary - Phil Kendon

In chapter 6 of Galatians, Paul continues to apply the gospel of grace to the way we live our lives. He commands us to carry each other’s burdens and to live by the principle of sowing and reaping. Paul closes the chapter with a summary of the gospel he has been so passionately explaining to the Galatian churches through this letter. The gospel tells us that we have nothing to offer God for our salvation – we don’t deserve anything from God, nor can we earn anything from him. Yet, God, in his sovereign grace, offers us the free gift of salvation through faith in Jesus. The Son of God died in our place to take our punishment and rose from the dead to grant us true spiritual life and continuous fellowship with God. We are truly blessed when we understand the gospel and when we live in all its benefits by faith.
