Offended, But Not Trapped
1. Offense Is Satan’s Favorite Trap
Luke 17:1 (NKJV)
“It is impossible that no offenses should come…”
Offense is a moment. Being offended is a choice.
Staying offended becomes bondage.
Signs you’ve taken the bait:
•Replaying the conversation over and over
•Avoiding certain people at church or work
•Harboring resentment but calling it “wisdom” or “boundaries”
2. Offense Will Shut Down God’s Flow in Your Life
Chain reaction:
Offense → Betrayal → Hatred → Deception → Cold hearts
Key Lies the Offended Believe:
“They don’t care.”
“I’m justified in my anger.”
“God didn’t protect me.”
“I’ll never let anyone close again.”
3. Forgiveness Is the Only Way Out
•Forgiveness doesn’t excuse the offense.
•Forgiveness doesn’t mean reconciliation happens instantly.
•Forgiveness doesn’t restore trust, but it releases the poison.
Forgiveness is not about making them right. It’s about making you free.
4. Offense Is a Test You Must Pass to Go Higher
God allows offense to test your heart.
Not to harm you—but to grow you.
Spiritual maturity is not proven by how much you know, but how well you handle offense.
You can either be offended or be free—but you can’t be both.

How can we pray for you?
