How Nehemiah Demonstrated this Theme:
1. First Example: The Power of Destructive WORDS. (Verses 1-3)
a. Defend: Remember it is GOD’S work and not ours. (Verses 4-5)
b. Build: FOCUS on building intentionally and strategically. (Verse 6)
2. Second Example: Opposition from the OUTSIDE. (Verses 7-8)
a. Defend: Prayer for wisdom and DISCERNMENT. (Verse 9)
b. Build: Intentional MANAGEMENT so the work doesn’t stop. (Verse 9)
3. Third Example: Opposition from WITHIN. (Verses 10-12)
a. Defend: Invest energy in the WEAKEST areas. (Verse 13)
b. Build: Intentionally build others up with your WORDS. (Verse 14)
