As a kingdom minded church, we believe that the ultimate fulfillment of our purpose is to be vessels of His grace; giving of ourselves just as He completely gave Himself up for us. The life of a Christ Follower is not about being a spectator for a couple of hours on Sunday. Rather, we open the flood gates of heaven when we sacrificially give of our talents and time.

Things we will wrestle with in Habakkuk:
When God seems silent in the face of injustice
What do we do with all the sin and injustice we do see
God’s Justice and Sovereignty
Unequal scales to measure one’s worth
How do the righteous walk by faith with laments in our heart

Unequal scales to measure one’s worth

Habakkuk cannot stop praying, trusting, and obeying God even in the face of injustice.
King Jehoiakim (named Eliakim at birth, 2 Chronicles 36:4) was one of the last kings of Judah before the Babylonian Captivity. Jehoiakim was a son of good King Josiah (Jeremiah 26:1) of Judah.
The name Habakkuk is derived from the Hebrew verb “embrace.” His name probably means, he who embraces or he who clings.
Some possible reasons why God allows us to see iniquity in ourselves:
To keep us humble.
To keep us submissive to Him in the hour of trouble.
To make us value salvation even more.
To keep us humble.
To keep us submissive to Him in the hour of trouble.
To make us value salvation even more.
Some possible reasons why God allows us to see iniquity in others:
To remind us what we were and would still be without Christ.
To make us see the wickedness of sin, that we might pass by it and hate it, and not indulge in it ourselves, and teach our children.
To make us admire the grace of God when He saves sinners.
To remind us what we were and would still be without Christ.
To make us see the wickedness of sin, that we might pass by it and hate it, and not indulge in it ourselves, and teach our children.
To make us admire the grace of God when He saves sinners.
“Ah, my brethren, we need to know more of the evil of men, to make us more earnest in seeking their salvation; for if there be anything in which the Church is lacking more than in any other matter, it is in the matter of earnestness.”

Habakkuk wrestles with the questions that come up when someone really believes God yet looks around and sees that the world doesn’t seem to match up with how God wants it. Habakkuk saw this – especially remembering the prior times of revival under King Josiah – and asked, “LORD, why are you allowing this?”
I do not always understand what God is doing. I do not need to understand, all I need is to trust in Him.This is where my faith is tested.Trusting the work of God though I cannot understand it.
“Until we have seen ourselves as God sees us, we are not likely to be much disturbed over conditions around us as long as they do not get so far out of hand as to threaten our comfortable way of life. We have learned to live with unholiness and have come to look upon it as the natural and expected thing.”
