1.Present Tense Love (1 John 4:7-8)
a.Love One Another
b.Loving one another is a great idea until we must do it
c.True love is sourced from God
d.This love is profoundly Christian
e.Those that do not love do not know God
f.God is love (present tense, and it is who He is)
2.Past Tense Love (1 John 4:9-10)
a.God showed extravagant love (Mark 14)
b.God sent his son so we might live through Him (Genesis 22, Eid al-Adha)
c.God loved us and sent his son as an atoning sacrifice for us
3.Future Tense Love (1 John 4:11-12)
a.Since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. (John 3:16)
b.In loving one another
i.God lives in us
ii.God’s love is made complete in us
