Why does God want to hold us back?”
“Why doesn’t God want us to reach the heavens?”
“What is He afraid of us finding out?”
The enemy is liar, and God is good and just.

Many times, God gives us specific instructions of what to do yet we fail to follow His commands and instead take a detour toward what we prefer to do or what is more comfortable.
Be careful when you start to drift away from what God is calling you to do because that drift can shift into disobedience and destruction when we follow our will verses His will.

God promises that He has a purpose and plan for our lives, but it involves glorifying and spreading His Name, Image & Likeness, instead of seeking to make a name for ourselves and spreading our own fame.
“God always has to ‘come down’ to examine our anthill achievements built in the sidewalk cracks of his creation.” - Jameson Nass
“Let us make no mistake. God was not feeling threatened in His supremacy by collective human ingenuity. Rather, what God knew, and what the city builders did not know, was the devastation that sin would wreak if human pride were allowed to progress unimpeded.” – Jon Bloom "Desiring God"

What “towers” have you built in your life?
Has pride crept into your life?
Do you tend to make things all about you?
Are your achievements and successes about what you did and point to you, or do they show others what God can do through you?
Whose “N.I.L.” Name, Image, and Likeness are you promoting?
Pride says, “My will be done!” while humility says, “Not my will, but God’s will be done!”
Man’s will says, “Look what I can do!” while God’s will proclaims, “Look what only God can do!”
Decide today to turn any pride you have into humility and allow God to search your heart and mind and let it be transformed into His image and for His glory!
