Something to think about:
Worldliness is a result of being attached to the temporal things of this life.
We can’t live outside this world
Perspective is crucial
Our driving force and focus should be on God, scripture, prayer, worship, and obedience.

Read 1 John 2:15-17.
Worldliness is a result of being attached to the temporal things of this life.Do you have any attachments to the temporal things of this life?Explain...
The word John uses for “world” in this passage represents the broken, fallen, and sinful condition of the world. Why does John say that we are not to love the world nor the things it offers us?
How does loving the world mean that a person does not have the love of the Father in him/her?
John lists what the world offers:craving for physical pleasure, craving for everything we see, pride in our achievements, and possessions. What is wrong with these things?
John mentions that the world and all it has to offer are fading away along with everything that people crave. This is the reason why living this way with these desires cannot please God or fulfill us; they are fleeting. However, we were created as beings made for eternity. To live for God is to live toward the eternity He created us for.To crave time with God and the things that please Him results in life with Him for eternity. But to desire this world and the things in it is to desire a life of selfishness that is only temporary. What do you love and live for?
